First of all, I am indebted to Ms Show Ei Ei Tun (aka) Mawchi at Eastern College in Pennsylvania who introduced me to the world's fastest-growing technology, the world wide web. Before we met, I was ignorant because I came from a town in Burma, where there were only two computers in the whole township.

Actually, this project took me far beyond the intellectual territory with which I had been familiar. Fortunately, people near and far were willing to guide me. Daniel Weber, and Htaw P. Htoo, computer science major students at Judson College in Illinois and Indiana-Purdue University respectively, were also generous with their time and provided me with critical comments and expert advice.

Thanks also to Joey Tun who told me to use such search-engines as yahoo ,and infoseek to find the topics on which I would like to research. My thanks also go to Adam Maung and Tansy J. Kadoe for their concern, encouragement and advice.

Such nice people as Rev. Randy Creath, David and Doris Horton also played their respective roles for this project, without whose support this would not have been possible. My thanks to Rev. Creath, whom I have never seen, for his e-mails.

And most especially thanks to Neil and Diana Sowards, to whom this web-page has been dedicated, for their wonderful love to all Burmese, bringing us together in peace and unity.

I was born on August 25, 1976 at the American Baptist Mission Hospital in Moulmein (Mawlamyine), Mon State, Burma (Myanmar). I spent most of my childhood in Mudon, Mon State. I graduated from high school in 1993.

After graduating from high school, I went to Rangoon (Yangon) to study at the Institute of Medicine (2). The school was closed for political reasons in 1996. I then went to the States in 1998 to study at Purdue University in Indiana. I graduated with a degree in Information Systems.

I came back to Burma to teach at the Myanmar Institute of Theology (MIT) at the Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies program. I taught at MIT from December 2002 till December 2004.

In December 2004, I left for Laos to work as a consultant at Digital Divide Data. I worked there for about 5 months and moved to Bangkok. I met Doug Cooper who invited me to work for him at the Center for Research in Computational Linguistics. I also studied at the Asian Institute of Technology in Bangkok and got my Master's in Computer Science.

I left Bangkok in August 2009 to study at Indiana University for my Master's in Linguistics, emphasizing computational linguistics. In the summer of 2010, I worked at Linguist List as an intern. I came back to work at Linguist List in February, 2010 after getting my M.A. from Indiana University. I have been at Linguist List since then.
